Afan Forest Park

Welcome to World class singletrack. Say no more

If you like riding challenging singletrack trails, you’ll love Afan Forest Park. With over 100km of singletrack, Afan Forest Park is the home of four world class trails: White’s Level, Skyline, W2 and Y Wâl.

Each of the trails offer a unique challenge. Skyline is a giant of a ride with dramatic views of the Brecon Beacons, the Preselis, the Black Mountains and the South Wales coast. In contrast, White’s Level is 90% purpose-built singletrack that requires technical riding skill (and a big set of lungs at the start).

The trails start and finish from Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre and Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre (further up the Afan Valley). Both venues have a car park, cafe and in-house facilities catering for all your biking needs. There is also a low level cycle trail called ‘Y Rheilffordd’ that can be used as a link between all trails and venues within the park.

How to get here – Leave the M4 at Junction 40 and follow the brown and white signs

Blue Scar

The Blue Scar is the first blue graded trail to be built in Afan Forest Park. It was fundamental for us to create a trail that bridges the gap between the Rookie and our other red graded trails – Ble Scar does this perfectly! A great trail for those wanting to improve their riding skills […]

The Blade trail is a fantastic addition to the Afan Forest Park trail network. With lots of great singletrack sections combined with some of the classics like ‘Peregrine Ridge’ and ‘Jetlag’ it shares the same sheep track climb out of Glyncorrwg with the ‘White’s Level’ trail. The Blade then takes you out to higher and […]

Penhydd

The classic South Wales trail returns, with a couple of new sections added in for good measure. It’s designed to be a progression to the more classic Afan trails but skill keeps its Red difficult grade status.
